With new exciting opportunities on the horizon and the business expanding fast, Farnborough International is looking to strengthen its world class team. We are recruiting a new Senior Sales Executive, to join a small established sales team and be responsible for attracting new business and delivering challenging sales targets for the Farnborough International Airshow and Bahrain International Airshow.

The Role

You will specifically focus on new emerging markets and sectors within the global Aerospace industry and introduce new clients to the Airshows; managing the sales process for new prospects, from initial contact through to closure.

Your primary responsibilities will include, amongst others;

  • Driving the exhibitor sales operation to include maintaining contact, following and closing sales leads
  • Owning the exhibitor up-selling programme and delivery of targets
  • Identifying new markets and developing existing growth markets and zones
  • Researching new products to sell our products to
  • Creating value propositions for all new prospects to match a client’s products/services and objectives with the FIL portfolio of events
  • In partnership with the Sales Manager, producing a sales and marketing strategy
  • Achieving revenue targets and objectives in lines with the allocated Business Plan and dedicated sector
  • Maintaining exhibitor records on the database and producing invoices where appropriate
  • Processing and monitoring incoming applications and inputting onto the CRM system

With these values in mind, we are looking for an enthused and proactive individual who has excellent interpersonal skills to evolve and maintain successful business relationships with all prospects throughout the whole sales process. You will have excellent communication skills to enable you to effectively handle customer enquiries and liaise internally with the Operations Department to relay customer requirements.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ years sales experience, with a proven history of achieving sales targets. Event sales experience is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with Aerospace industry stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with a CRM tool
  • Excellent account management skills and a proven track record of delivering new business revenue
  • Strong customer focus and presentation skills
  • High attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines
  • Excellent organisational ability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required

With new exciting opportunities on the horizon and the business expanding fast, Farnborough International is looking to strengthen its world class team by recruiting a new Director of Operations for Airshows, responsible for the delivery of all operational aspects of the Farnborough International Airshow and Bahrain International Airshow.

The Role

Reporting to the CEO, and working with the Executive team, this role will oversee the delivery of the air show project plans to ensure all key mile stones are achieved.

The Director of Operations’ primary responsibilities will include, amongst others;

  • Ensuring all service providers are appropriately tendered and appointed
  • Developing KPI’s, SLA’s and benchmarks for staff and key official suppliers
  • Liaising with and coordinating emergency services for Farnborough International events
  • Implementing a Preferred Supplier process to maximise revenue generation
  • Managing relevant service providers for Farnborough International events
  • Overseeing the build-up and breakdown process for all temporary structures
  • Implementing agreed de-brief actions relevant to operations

The Candidate

You will have good communication and leadership skills to be able to manage the Operations team and represent upwards at Board level when required, and be capable of fostering good working relationships.

You will have experience of managing large scale sites and events, and be experienced in working on and delivering ‘plans and projects’.

Farnborough International LTD boosts commercial team

Emma Carter appointed as Commercial Project Manager

16th September 2015: In light of Farnborough International Ltd’s (FIL) growing consultancy business, the specialist organiser for aerospace industry events has appointed Emma Carter as Commercial Project Manager. Emma joins the business with over 20 years’ experience in the aerospace industry having worked as an Executive Assistant to former Airbus Chief Executive, Robin Southwell and in various roles for BAE Systems in her early career.

The appointment comes after FIL’s recent commission to plan and organize the Sichuan International Airshow in conjunction with the Sichuan Provincial Government in China. She will work alongside FIL Commercial Director, Amanda Stainer, to bring together the new China show which takes place in September 2017 as well as the Bahrain International Airshow and Farnborough International Airshow.

Speaking about the appointment, Amanda Stainer said, “Emma’s industry knowledge at the top end of the aerospace industry will be a real asset to the FIL business. Like all executive assistants, they are the backbone to any business leader and these qualities will prove beneficial in delivering projects at FIL.”
Emma Carter also commented saying, “I’m looking forward to joining the business. I used to run the UK VIP programme on behalf of Airbus for both DSEI and the Farnborough International Airshow so I am well-rehearsed on the importance of these high level networking events.
