Paul Everitt

Chairman, Farnborough International Limited (FIL)
Paul Everitt, Chairman

Paul joined FIL from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) where he was Chief Executive and has over 17 year’s experience in public policy and media campaigns.

He has a longstanding relationship with FIL and The Farnborough International Airshow initially joining SBAC in 2005 as Director of Civil Air Transport and Communications. Notable achievements include launching the world’s first sustainable aviation strategy and helping to establish the pro-aviation campaign FlyingMatters. During 2006 he oversaw SBAC activities at the Farnborough International Airshow and helped to promote UK companies at a range of major international events.

As well as FIL Chairman, Everitt is also Chief Executive at ADS. Under his leadership he has driven the trade organisation’s industry priorities forward and continued to develop strategic partnerships on behalf of ADS members.


Amanda Stainer

Amanda Stainer, Commercial Director
Amanda Stainer has over 10 years’ experience at FIL, initially joining SBAC as Head of Exhibitions and Events, responsible for UK aerospace participation at overseas shows and organising FIA.  In 2005 FIL became a wholly owned subsidiary company of SBAC and Amanda became a Director of the FIL Board. Furthermore she was instrumental in the launch of FIVE (Farnborough International Venue & Events) in 2008 creating a diverse exhibitions and events venue at Farnborough for a variety of market sectors.

Her main responsibilities now include FIL business development, international sales, marketing and communications strategy for FIA, development of the FIA brand as well as overseeing aircraft participation. She is also project leader for the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) and has been fundamental in developing FIL’s links in India, helping organise the Civil Aviation show in Hyderabad.

Amanda embarked on her career in the events industry at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) where she started as an Events Manager and progressed to Head of Special Events and Conferences. She has also enjoyed stints at The Events Organisation Company, organising events overseas and Barker Brown where she became Show Director for BBC Clothes Show Live, one of the UK’s largest fashion and beauty events.

Amanda is a Non-executive Board Director of the RAF Museums Enterprise Ltd, is a member of the Aviation Club and the events forum MEOMS, and graduated from Goldsmiths College, London University with a BA Hons degree. Amanda is married to Laurence and lives in Bournemouth.


Andrew Pearcey

Andrew Pearcey

Andrew Pearcey joined FIL as Marketing & Communications Director in 2015. His appointment signified a recognition of the importance of marketing and communications, and in particular the development of its brands and digital communications, for the continued future success of the organisation.

A graduate of Middlesex University Business School, Andrew has over 20 years marketing and communications experience in both blue chip and agency side roles. Prior to FIL, Andrew’s roles have included, Brand Marketing Controller for Budweiser, Head of Sponsorship at Orange and Managing Partner at Cheil, and has been responsible for many high profile campaigns, events and sponsorship properties including Orange Wednesdays, BAFTA’s, Glastonbury, EE’s Wembley partnership and Budweiser’s FIFA World Cup campaign. Having spent the last 10 years of his career in the telecommunications and technology sector, Andrew brings FIL a wealth of understanding and experience in mobile and digital communications.

Andrew lives in Haslemere with his wife and 3 children and enjoys all sport with a particular passion for football and rugby. He also enjoys a round of golf when life permits it!

Andrew Chalk

Andy Chalk joined ADS in June 2013 as Finance Director with group responsibility for FIL. Andy held various roles with British Aerospace and Rentokil in the early stages of his career before moving on to the global consumer products giant SC Johnson where he held a number of senior finance roles during an 11 year period with UK and EMEA responsibility including 3 years as Finance Director based in South Africa.

Prior to joining ADS, Andy worked for Monster Energy during its formative years in the EMEA region and was responsible for providing the business services platform to support its brand establishment and rapid growth agenda.

Andy lives with his wife and two children in Surrey and has a keen interest in sport in his spare time.


Beth Henson

Beth Henson

Beth joined the SBAC and FIL in 2008, bringing over 15 years experience in Human Resources drawn from a spectrum of industry posts including events, hospitality and manufacturing and a strong background in Social Work.

She was instrumental in the merger of the SBAC and DMA in 2010, leading on all HR aspects. Beth holds a keen interest in change management and HR Infrastructure and supports the Good Schools Guide in an HR advisory capacity.

A keen sports-person, Beth enjoys running and keeping fit and enjoys the company of friends and family. She has two sons and lives in Hampshire.


Keith Greetham

Greetham joined FIL to assist the Executive team on its planned development of the venue. His knowledge and expertise gained through his 35 years experience in the exhibition industry will prove invaluable as the business moves forward with its plans to create new permanent exhibition facilities.

Greetham’s career spans over three decades including group managing director at Reed Exhibitions in the early 1990s and chief executive at exhibition and event supplier Opex. He was a founding member of the team that developed the UK’s premier international venue, Excel, from its initial funding through to full time Commercial Director.

Greetham has also been involved in his own industry ventures including Professional Events, is a member of the board of a number of venues and event related businesses including, The International Centre and D2i Systems. He is currently Chairman of Southwater Events Group.


John Turner

Turner has exceptional experience of governance and supervision in the aviation area, working for BAe Systems, as Director of the Military Aircraft Division where he managed the corporate governance of the organisation, covering all its flying and airfield operations world-wide as well as the company’s UK flight test activities and associated airfield operations under both UK CAA and MoD regulation.

He also has extensive experience of flight test as a lead test pilot on Tornado, Hawk, Eurofighter/ Typhoon, BAe146 and Nimrod MRA4.  John has displayed Hawk and Eurofighter/Typhoon at a number of international air shows, including the first fully aerobatic Eurofighter display at the FIA 1996 and for the Typhoon name launch at FIA in 1998. Subsequently, he has displayed a wide variety of vintage aircraft from the World War I Bristol Fighter F2B to the 1940’s Avro C-19 airliner at Shuttleworth Trust’s Old Warden airfield and elsewhere in UK.

He has worked on air show Flying Control Committees since 1990 and as Chairman of the Flying Control Committee of Farnborough International Airshow since 2010.


Robin Southwell

ADS President and CEO of EADS UK, Robin Southwell, joined the board at FIL in 2009. His knowledge and insight of the UK Aerospace and defence market make him a valued addition to the board. His career history includes positions as CEO of AirTanker Ltd (a consortia of EADS, Cobham, Rolls Royce, Thales and VT Group) where, under his leadership he secured the largest PFI in history, Chief Executive Officer at WS Atkins and Group Managing Director of Customer Solutions and Support at BAE Systems.

As well as an NED at FIL, Robin is Chairman of Quest Aviation Services, Concord Ltd and Airbase Group Ltd. He is also a Trustee of the RAF Museum, a Governor of Parkside School and was appointed by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, as a UK Business Ambassador.


Michael Watton

Michael Watton

Michael joined FIL in February 2016 with specific responsibility for the development of the £30m Phase 2 project, scheduled to open early in 2018. With an events industry career spanning over 25 years, Michael has worked in commercial roles in some of the world’s most recognisable venues.

Prior to joining FIL, Michael has helped develop venues as diverse as the International Convention Centre and National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, where he became Sales Director in 2006, The Dubai World Trade Centre from 2009 to 2012 and most recently at Bluewater in Kent. During his career, Michael has worked with event organisers in all sectors of the industry, including exhibitions, conferences, corporate events, sport and live entertainment, and on events including The British International Motor Show, Clotheshow Live, MACH, Gulfood and Arab Health.

Michael is married with two children and enjoys golf and motorsport.
