Overview

ConvergX & FIL: Executive Roundtable

The ConvergX® & FIL Executive Roundtable will take place on the 9th September 2019, Canada House, London UK.

This is a stand-alone invitation only session to facilitate a significant deep dive into common issues facing the Military, Aerospace, Defence, Security, Energy and Mining industries from the most senior view point.

TOPIC: THE ARCTIC

The topic of the Arctic is an extension of the February 2019 roundtable held in Calgary, Alberta, Canada:
  • To explore the issues and development of stable infrastructure for security of food, power, communications, transportation & logistics. How to deliver a higher quality of life and integration between civilians, industry and military to support the northern region in all allied nations.
  • Highlight important advocacy conversations.

Why the Arctic?
The arctic is a vast, remote, sparsely populated area yet rich with Indigenous communities, history and opportunity. The predominant industry of the arctic is mining and resource extraction, and many communities are only accessible via fly-in services or treacherous and seasonal ice roads.

The melting permafrost layer makes ground conditions even more challenging. As sea ice melts, there will be increasing numbers of commercial ships seeking passage through Northern waters. The area is also one of the most vulnerable to the impacts of human and environmental changes, which brings both increased opportunities and threats.

About ConvergX:
ConvergX® is the first and only x-sector, annual global 2.5 day summit bringing together decision makers from the military, and Senior Executives from the aerospace, defence, security, energy and mining industries to explore opportunities and solve shared problems under the confidentiality of Chatham House Rule.

As ConvergX® brings together a select group of top executives and decision-makers from around the world, the summits are kept intentionally limited access to ensure maximum productivity and opportunity to network with a similar calibre of peer. Delegates must apply to attend the conference and consent to a security check.

More information on the event will appear here in due course.
